Park Rules
This private park is for reflection and enjoyment.
All visitors are welcome but please abide by the few regulations, laid down in order to protect its natural beauty and in respect for those who are laid to rest here.

Keep to the paths and do not stray or walk over marked burial sites.
|
| • |
Do not pick the wildflowers.
|
| • |
Keep children supervised at all times.
|
| • |
No skateboards, roller blades, bicycles or any motorised vehicle to enter the woodland, except for gaining access to the car park.
|
| • |
Please take your litter home with you. We request that any flowers brought for placing on graves are removed from their wrapping, enabling us to maintain the natural woodland.

Please keep dogs on short leads and clear up any mess they may make.

Cut Flowers Policy
| • |
Cut flowers may be left lying on the grave without any wrappings or ribbons. Where possible we ask that families consider bringing small bunches/posies of subtle colours.
|
| • |
Colney Woodland Burial Park staff will take away flowers as they deteriorate either through weather conditions or grazing by wildlife eg. rabbits, slugs and snails.
|
| • |
Funeral tributes are always accepted and left on the grave until they deteriorate for the same reasons as above.
|
| • |
No flowers or public access is allowed to the ash scattering area (Bluebell Wood). This is for health and safety reasons and to protect the bluebells.
|
| • |
No containers are to be placed on the grave ie. vases, jam jars, plastic bottles etc. These present a potential health and safety hazard in the woodland and compromise the overall look of the woodland. We are able to supply wooden vases which our staff can place below ground level for you. Please contact the office for details.
|
| • |
You are welcome to bring Christmas Wreaths made of natural products eg. holly and ivy. Alternatively these can be purchased from the Sunday tea shop or ordered through the office. These will be left on the grave until Twelfth Night and then removed by Colney Woodland Burial Park staff.
|
Some woodland plants can be purchased on site. Please ask at the office. There are also two excellent suppliers of native British woodland plants. They will help you choose plants appropriate for Colney Woodland Burial Park:

Planting Policy
| • |
All planting is managed by Colney Woodland Burial Park staff. We will undertake to plant on each grave used. If families have specific requests for native British woodland plants or would like to be involved in the planting, they will be able to do this under our supervision and guidance. Please ask for advice and help.
|
| • |
Where inappropriate plants are placed, Colney Woodland Burial Park will discuss this with families before the plants are removed.
|
| • |
To safeguard the appearance of the woodland, we are unable to permit cuddly toys or photographs.
