Memorial Options

Memorials at
Colney Woodland Burial Park are provided by Colstruction Ltd (a sister company that carries out the management and maintenance of the woodland).

Please do not hesitate to contact us for advice and information on the following memorial options:

1) Bird - bat boxes

In order to encourage wildlife, families have been keen to work with us to provide nesting sites. There are still a few places in the woodland for bird/bat boxes. Price includes purchase of box, attaching to tree and annual inspection, cleaning and maintenance for 5 years.

2) Memorial posts

The memorial posts are made of solid English Oak and are inclusive of a simple etched message. Families may commission their own memorials providing they adhere to our approved specifications (see memorial regulations). Details of local woodcarvers are provided below:

3) Book of Remembrance

An entry in the Book of Remembrance provides a beautiful and long lasting memorial to families and friends. Everyone is welcome to have an entry in the book, even if the person being remembered is buried or interred elsewhere.

Memorials need to be approved by our staff, before implementation of design.

Oak is the preferred wood – No tropical hardwood or redwood.

Memorials to be placed within the grave dimensions which are 2.1 mtrs x 900 mm for burial plots, and 500mm square for ash interment plots.

Memorial design should allow for at least 300mm below ground to ensure stability and safety.
