Purchasing Rights to Burial in a grave or an ashes plot

The Right to Burial in a grave or ashes plot at Colney Woodland Burial Park may be purchased by anyone, regardless of their place of residence. Purchases can be made either in advance of the time of need for oneself or a loved one, or for immediate use when a death has occurred. The length of the lease extends to 2099, unlike most local authority cemeteries where a renewal fee is payable after 30 or 50 years.

Prices are dependent on the location of the chosen grave or ashes plot, and we have double graves available costing from £3,000, with double ashes plots from £800. (The right to place a wooden memorial on the grave is included in the cost.)

If a full grave is chosen, the first funeral and interment fee is included - this fee covers the cost of preparing the grave for the burial, the use of our ceremonial buildings for a two hour period, the initial and ongoing support of our highly trained staff and all administration costs. An additional interment fee is applicable for the second burial in the grave, this can be paid in advance or at the time of need.

There are no ongoing maintenance costs once the Rights have been purchased, as our staff maintain the entire woodland on behalf of our families.

By choosing to use Colney Woodland Burial Park as the final resting place for a loved one, families will not only help to preserve our beautiful woodland environment for future generations, but also avoid burdening future generations with the costly upkeep of imported stone memorials.

In comparison with local authority fees for burial or cremation, and particularly where purchasing a permanent memorial would be an additional cost, burial at Colney Woodland Burial Park provides extraordinary financial and environmental value.
